財務会計マネージャー/ Financial Accounting Manager

An international manufacturing company is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager (Japan Finance Lead). The selected candidate will oversee financial closing, statutory reporting, audits, compliance, internal controls, and accounting team management. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes prepared by the accounting team
• Review financial statements based on Japanese GAAP and group accounting policies
• Act as the main contact for group finance, financing matters, and intercompany reporting
• Manage external financial audits and National Tax Agency tax audits
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and internal control requirements
• Lead, coach, and supervise accounting staff while coordinating with outsourced advisors

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit management
• Prior experience with ERP systems and accounting tools
• Proven experience managing teams and external service providers
• Knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance
• Familiarity with financing-related processes in a Group or matrix organisation
• Proficient in Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in a multinational or foreign-affiliated company environment
• Understanding of Japanese taxation and transfer pricing
