Head of HR Japan

A global technology company is looking for a Head of HR Japan. The selected candidate will lead HR strategy, business partnering, HR operations, team leadership, and global people initiatives. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop HR strategies aligned with business goals and growth plans
• Partner with senior leaders on organisation design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management
• Lead employee engagement, culture-building, and organisational development initiatives
• Manage and develop HR business partners, talent acquisition, and learning and development teams
• Oversee HR operations, employee relations, compliance, payroll coordination, benefits, contracts, and leave management
• Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders on HR programs, best practices, and people strategy

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in human resources, business administration, law, or a related domain
• More than 10 years of HR experience (including HR leadership)
• Experience managing employee relations and organisational change initiatives
• Background in leading HR teams and partnering with senior executives
• Understanding of Japanese labour law and HR operations
• Native level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience within multinational, SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments
• Prior experience leading cross-functional or international HR projects
• Possess valid HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) or Social Insurance Labor Consultant qualification (社会保険労務士)
