Head of Material Management

A global aerospace company is looking for a Head of Material Management. The selected candidate will lead material support, logistics, warehousing, procurement, and spare parts operations while driving customer satisfaction, operational performance, and supply chain excellence. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead material support, logistics, warehousing, procurement, and spare parts order administration functions
• Manage a team of approximately 20 employees across multiple operational sections
• Monitor operational KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction
• Oversee local inventory performance, stock adequacy, fill rate, and delivery performance
• Lead performance review meetings with regional, central, and internal teams
• Implement material support and logistics strategies across the Asia-Pacific region
• Develop profitable replenishment strategies
• Manage third-party warehousing and distribution partners
• Oversee helicopter import operations, including transport, customs, insurance, and costs
• Act as the main point of contact for Japanese customers regarding spare and repair parts delivery
• Coordinate cross-functional actions to improve customer satisfaction and meet delivery commitments
• Manage supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans
• Control departmental operating costs within budget
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and retention initiatives
• Ensure compliance with export control regulations for supply chain and spare parts operations

Requirements:

• Prior experience in supply chain and part order administration
• Knowledge of SAP order administration tools and processes, including warranty management, spares and repair processes, and management dashboards
• Strong leadership experience in a complex environment with uncertain demand
• Aerospace industry knowledge
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and customers at a senior level
• Ability to build credibility and influence senior management at regional and headquarters levels
• Business level English; proficient in Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Understanding of directorates and organisational networks
• Strategic vision with the ability to identify trends and business opportunities
