ECU ソフトウェア レジデントエンジニア/ ECU Software Resident Engineer

A global automotive engineering company is looking for an ECU Software Resident Engineer. The chosen candidate will support software development, coordinate customer requirements, manage technical issues and project timelines, and ensure successful software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical interface between the customer (Japan OEM) and the ECU software engineering team
• Lead customer communication, software reporting, open issue tracking, timeline management, and escalation management
• Analyse, manage, and communicate customer software requirements and change requests to the development team
• Support low-voltage power electronics software development for Electronic Control Units (ECUs)
• Verify and debug base software, including electrical diagnostics
• Support software architecture, detailed design, Technical Safety Concept, and cybersecurity-related specifications
• Support Software Project Leads with detailed planning and customer coordination
• Interface with the customer on vehicle design FMEAs and diagnostics interfaces
• Conduct reporting, meetings, presentations, and technical explanations with the OEM
• Support software debugging, commissioning, testing, diagnostics, and inspections throughout the development lifecycle
• Support the release of electrical software design outputs from ECAD tools in accordance with company processes and facilitate customer releases

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Customer management experience
• Embedded Software Design, Development, calibration, and Management tools
• Relevant engineering experience in automotive software or electronics
• Automotive SW Know-how (Communication Protocols, Diagnostics, AUTOSAR, MISRA, etc.)
• Understanding of automotive and functional safety development processes
• Understanding of Automotive SPICE, ISO26262 & Cyber Security ISO/SAE21434 requirements (UN R 155/156)
• Understanding of the tests of the ECU software
• Knowledge of Model-based development and code generation (UML, Matlab/Simulink, Target Link, C++ language)
• Knowledge of E-Motor Controls and Inverter
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• Possess a valid driver's license in Japan
• Fluent level Japanese (JLPT N2+); basic level English

Preferred Requirements:

• Understanding of ECU Hardware
