シニア会計マネージャー/ Sr. Accounting Manager Deputy Controller

An international medical technology company is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager – Deputy Controller. The successful candidate will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, lead financial reporting, drive process improvements, and support strategic finance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Controller in leading accounting and financial reporting activities
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, account analyses, and financial reporting packages
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, J-GAAP, company accounting policies, and local tax laws
• Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and regulatory filings
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure SOX compliance
• Lead remediation of audit findings and control deficiencies
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors
• Oversee general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany, accruals, inventory accounting, and core accounting processes
• Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of accounting operations
• Partner with Shared Services to improve service quality and operational efficiency
• Provide accounting guidance on business initiatives, contracts, restructuring activities, and strategic projects
• Support ERP enhancements, system implementations, automation, and digitalisation initiatives
• Lead regional and global finance projects and improve reporting quality and close-cycle efficiency

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• More than 10 years of experience in accounting and controllership, preferably within multinational companies
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting regulations
• Experience managing accounting teams and developing finance talent
• Deep understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and governance frameworks
• Proficient in English and Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Possess a valid CPA or equivalent professional qualification
