会計士/ Accountant

An international luxury goods company is seeking an Accountant. The selected candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, closing activities, local tax requirements, financial reporting, and process improvements while collaborating with stakeholders in Japan and the US Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Process and record invoices, purchase orders, expenses, bank entries, credit card transactions, and other accounting documents in NetSuite
• Manage accounts payable, support accounts receivable, prepare supplier and customer ageing reports, and perform account reconciliations
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash movements, POS transactions, sales data, and payment deposits, including chargebacks
• Monitor and reconcile inventory movements in coordination with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Retail teams
• Support monthly and annual closings, including cut-off entries, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Apply appropriate Japanese tax codes and support periodic tax filings, including consumption tax and other local declarations
• Assist with annual tax returns and financial statement preparation
• Prepare reports on cash position, liquidity, and key balance sheet items
• Support the Finance and Accounting Manager with ad hoc reports, reconciliations, and analysis
• Contribute to process improvements, process harmonisation with the US Headquarters, and the strengthening of internal controls as the Japan business grows

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally within a multinational, luxury retail, lifestyle, or consumer brand environment
• Strong knowledge of Japanese accounting principles and local tax requirements
• Familiarity with US GAAP and experience reporting to an international headquarters
• Strong knowledge of NetSuite and experience working with ERP systems
• Experience with bank reconciliations, financial reporting, inventory reconciliations, and month-end closing
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to the Fukui office
• Native level Japanese; business level English
