財務マネージャー/ Finance Manager

A multinational space technology company is looking for a Finance Manager. The selected candidate will lead finance and accounting operations, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee financial planning, and provide strategic financial support to the Japan business in partnership with regional and global teams. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and operational decision-making
• Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions
• Partner with local leadership and global finance teams to align financial strategies
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Maintain compliance with Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
• Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with global finance policies
• Manage corporate tax filings, consumption tax, and statutory obligations
• Support transfer pricing and inter-company transactions
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems
• Support ERP implementation and optimisation
• Establish scalable financial processes to support business expansion
• Serve as the key finance contact for the Japan business
• Collaborate with operations, sales, legal, and global teams
• Manage and mentor local accounting staff or external service providers where applicable

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 7-10 years of experience in finance and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
• Experience in a multinational company working with global finance teams
• Experience in financial planning and analysis and business partnering
• Hands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
• Business level English; fluent level Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Possess a valid CPA, Nissho Boki, or equivalent professional qualification
