法律顧問/ Legal Counsel

A private banking institution is searching for a Legal Counsel. The chosen applicant will provide legal support on regulatory matters, contracts, and compliance. This is a temp role.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Regional Head of Legal on legal and regulatory matters
• Review, draft, and manage legal contracts and internal agreements
• Provide legal input and practical guidance to relationship managers and internal teams
• Ensure internal practices comply with local laws, financial regulations, and global standards
• Coordinate with external counsel as needed
• Maintain legal records and documentation in line with governance policies

Requirements:

• Legal qualification or strong legal background (paralegal or legal associate experience is welcome)
• Experience in the financial services industry is advantageous
• Knowledge of private banking or trust business is a plus
• Prior in-house experience in a financial institution or international law firm is preferred
• Familiarity with cross-border legal and compliance issues is preferred
• Strong understanding of contract law and regulatory environment in Japan
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Native level Japanese; business level English
