技術開発マネージャー/ Technical Development Manager

An international chemical company is looking for a Technical Development Manager. The successful candidate will lead application development, provide technical customer support, manage customer relationships, and drive innovation for engineering plastics and advanced polymer materials.

Responsibilities:

• Lead customer application projects from concept to commercialisation
• Drive technical milestones and support product adoption
• Develop technical proposals and identify new business opportunities
• Support launches of new products and applications
• Provide material selection support and interpret mechanical, thermal, electrical, and flame-retardant properties
• Optimise injection moulding processes, troubleshoot issues, improve quality, and provide on-site support
• Provide mould and tooling recommendations, perform root-cause analysis, and utilise CAE and simulation results
• Advise on design for manufacturing and material-driven part design improvements
• Build technical relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and manufacturing partners
• Deliver technical presentations and customer workshops
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to strategic customers
• Gather market and customer insights
• Translate customer needs into development projects
• Identify growth opportunities and contribute to innovation roadmaps

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Experience in plastics, polymers, or materials industries
• Proficient in written and verbal English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in application development or technical service
• Knowledge of injection moulding and plastic processing
• Experience working with OEMs, contract manufacturers, or industrial customers
• International or cross-cultural work experience
