Head of Market Access

A multinational healthcare company is seeking a Head of Market Access. The selected candidate will lead strategies to secure and manage reimbursement and coverage for innovative products with public and private payors.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategies to ensure coverage and reimbursement of products across Japan
• Provide in-field expertise to address reimbursement issues with external stakeholders
• Collaborate with payors, providers, and patients to create value propositions addressing shared priorities
• Identify opportunities for differential reimbursement through clinical evidence and emerging technologies
• Partner with sales and marketing to address access barriers related to policy and payor-provider interdependencies
• Monitor market trends, policy changes, and competitive landscape to assess impact on products
• Act as subject matter expert in Health Technology Assessment and manage reimbursement decisions
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, payors, healthcare providers, advocacy groups, and KOLs
• Share best practices with global market access teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above (Masters, PharmD, or PhD preferred)
• Practical experience in Market Access, Health Economics, Outcomes Research, or related fields in pharma, medical devices, or consulting
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Japanese healthcare system and reimbursement processes
• Strong understanding of HTA, evidence-based medicine, and health economics
• Skilled in MS Office Suite
