Head of Quality

An international optical precision instruments company is looking for a Head of Quality. The selected candidate will drive continuous improvement and align quality initiatives with business and compliance objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)
• Conduct internal audits and manage external ISO 9001 and other audit preparations
• Act as Management System Officer and guide departments on QMS implementation
• Promote a culture of quality through training and awareness initiatives
• Collaborate with the Digital Transformation team to integrate quality into digital tools and data systems
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards through partnership with the Compliance Department
• Establish quality KPIs and align initiatives with department goals
• Report quality metrics and audit findings to senior leadership
• Lead sustainability and CSR reporting, including supplier and customer questionnaires
• Coach and develop a team of two staff, providing oversight and performance feedback
• Liaise with global group departments to align local and global quality strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in quality management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• More than 5 years of proven experience in quality management with ISO 9001 standards
• Strong understanding of QMS and continuous improvement methodologies
• Proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving organisational change
• Familiarity with digital transformation and compliance regulations
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Professional level Japanese and English
