Head of SCM

A global pharmaceutical manufacturing company is looking for a Head of SCM. The selected candidate will oversee supply planning, logistics, external manufacturing, team development, and new product launch readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end supply planning and inventory strategy for the Japan market
• Oversee import operations, GDP-compliant warehousing, order management, and customer distribution
• Manage 3PL partners through KPI and SLA governance while improving logistics costs and service levels
• Direct CMO relationships, production schedules, capacity planning, and quality compliance
• Coordinate supply chain activities for product launches, technology transfers, and product changes
• Develop the Supply Chain team through coaching, goal setting, and performance management

Requirements:

• More than 15 years of progressive supply chain experience in pharmaceuticals or related life sciences industries
• More than 5 years of people management experience
• Experience in CMO management, new product introduction, and change control processes
• Prior experience in global pharmaceutical organisations with strong cross-border and matrix collaboration
• Proven experience with S&OP and logistics operations
• Background in leadership across multiple supply chain domains, including planning, logistics, and external manufacturing
• Prior background using digital supply chain systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
• Understanding of GDP/GMP requirements and Japanese regulatory expectations
• Fluent level Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Possess valid project management certification, such as PMP
