Head of Procurement

An international specialty chemicals company is looking for a Head of Procurement. The selected candidate will lead the procurement organisation and drive strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives in line with regional and global standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the procurement organisation in Japan
• Oversee procurement performance across defined categories
• Build and develop a high-performing procurement team to collaborate cross-functionally
• Drive the integration of procurement activities and synergy projects across the organisation
• Implement and monitor performance tracking tools and sourcing processes
• Ensure compliance with Procurement Minimum Controls and support audit processes
• Identify, develop, and retain procurement talent within the region
• Coach and mentor category procurement managers
• Contribute to acquisition integration and synergy creation

Requirements:

• Practical experience in both category and functional procurement line management
• Proven experience in procurement processes and IT infrastructure
• Strong project management skills
• Professional level Japanese and English
