KYC & Onboarding Head

An international securities firm is looking for a KYC/Onboarding Head. The selected candidate will lead the Japan Onboarding & KYC team, ensuring regulatory compliance, efficient onboarding, and continuous process improvements. This is a remote work setup and a direct contract-to-perm role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the onboarding and KYC process for private and corporate clients in Japan
• Identify and resolve issues in client applications and processes
• Oversee periodic reviews and data refresh to maintain accurate client documentation
• Collaborate with APAC and global teams to enhance operational procedures
• Maintain and update onboarding work instructions and procedures
• Manage team performance, recruitment, and workload distribution

Requirements:

• Practical experience in onboarding and due diligence for Japanese clients
• Experience in Quality Control and Quality Assessment
• Proven experience in process and framework improvement
• Strong knowledge of Japan AML and KYC regulations
• Ability to understand and implement compliance procedures
• Possess a valid certificate of Internal Controls Manager (内部管理責任者) preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Fluent level Japanese; business level English
