Head of Finance

A foreign investment and trading company is searching for a Head of Finance. The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial risk, regulatory compliance, and reporting within securities operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage capital adequacy ratio, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk
• Analyse market risk and develop mitigation strategies; monitor basis risk
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for regulatory authorities
• Submit accurate and timely regulatory financial reports; liaise with regulators and offer insights in line with regulatory requirements
• Support new business initiatives with financial solutions, evaluate financial impact, and advise on tax and accounting risks
• Create and monitor the execution of annual budgets
• Coordinate with auditors and tax representatives on audits and tax matters
• Recruit, develop, retain, and supervise finance and accounting staff

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or similar roles within a securities firm
• Experience in reporting to the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC)
• In-depth knowledge of Japanese financial regulations
• Practical experience in financial management, monitoring, budgeting, risk management, and internal contro
• Proven experience coordinating with external auditors and tax professionals
• Demonstrated experience in managing accounting or finance teams
• Business level Japanese and English
