コントローラー/ Controller

A global manufacturing company is looking for a Controller. The selected candidate will oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance for the Japan business.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and information systems
• Provide accounting guidance and controllership support for local operations
• Lead planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives
• Manage statutory financial filings, audits, tax compliance, and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, and Japan regulations
• Drive process improvements, system automation, and resolve technical accounting issues
• Collaborate with leadership on financial results, payroll, and operational performance
• Supervise the local finance and accounting team

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance, or a related field
• More than 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field within manufacturing
• More than 5 years of proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role in a global U.S.-based company
• Prior Public accounting (Big Four) experience is ideal
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and MRP/ERP systems for financial analysis
• Ability and willingness to travel to the U.S. occasionally
• Possess a valid accounting or finance certification is preferred (MBA a plus)
• Native level Japanese; business level English
