A renowned research organisation is looking for an IP Counsel. The selected candidate will lead intellectual property strategy, from patent assessment to protection and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patentability of disclosed inventions from researchers
• Develop and execute strategies to protect technologies and innovations
• Manage patent filing and maintenance processes with external counsel
• Coordinate with researchers, faculty, and external legal partners
• Oversee intellectual property portfolio protection and compliance
• Conduct IP due diligence for potential partners and licensees

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a scientific area related to biopharmaceuticals
• 8-12 years of experience in intellectual property prosecution and management at a senior level
• Understanding of current patent law and practices
• Possess valid registered patent attorney qualification
• Professional level Japanese and English
