MDスペシャリスト/ MD Specialist

A global sportswear company is seeking an MD Specialist. The selected candidate will lead product assortment strategies and market alignment for both footwear and apparel across multiple sales channels in Japan.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement product assortments aligned with brand objectives and market trends
• Present seasonal merchandising strategies to internal teams and key accounts during GTM stages
• Act as the voice of the Japanese market, delivering consumer insights and trend analysis
• Collaborate with demand planning and sales to align seasonal forecasts with business goals
• Lead the planning and execution of Japan-specific SMU (Special Make-Up) projects
• Ensure optimal product flow and visual presentation across DTC, wholesale, and lifestyle channels

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience in footwear and apparel merchandising
• Proven experience in performance-focused brands and cross-functional collaboration in global organisations
• Skilled in presentation, negotiation, and market trend analysis
• Ability and willingness to travel seasonally
• Native level Japanese; business level English
