財務スペシャリスト/ Finance Specialist

An international engineering and technical services organisation is seeking a Finance Specialist. The selected candidate will manage end-to-end financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance while supporting global finance collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage supplier invoices within Japan and ensure timely approvals
• Translate invoices when required and submit them to accounts payable systems
• Act as system requester and support invoice approval workflows
• Handle supplier enquiries and manage supplier setup processes
• Oversee purchase order management activities
• Manage bank accounts and liaise with Japanese banking institutions
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and perform regular bank reconciliations
• Support preparation and issuance of customer project invoices
• Monitor customer payments and ensure accurate cash receipt tracking
• Maintain general ledger records using the SAGE system
• Perform month-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Reconcile financial data between Costpoint and SAGE systems
• Prepare monthly trial balance reports and variance analysis
• Compile tax return documentation including consumption tax reconciliation and submission support
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Process payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts
• Support timesheet processing and month-end payroll postings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within multinational organisations
• Strong understanding of Japanese accounting standards and tax regulations including consumption tax
• Proficiency in financial systems such as SAGE (Costpoint)
• Experience liaising with external tax advisors
• Native level Japanese; business level English
