APスペシャリスト/ AP Specialist
A multinational data centre services organisation is seeking an AP Specialist. The selected candidate will ensure AP accuracy, compliance, and process alignment while managing escalations, supporting tax requirements, and driving operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between Japan business teams and the AP shared service centre in India for all Accounts Payable matters
- Lead monthly AP service reviews covering SLAs, KPIs, backlog management, quality metrics, and root-cause analysis actions
- Manage and resolve AP escalations including vendor holds, payment issues, and disputed invoices requiring local input and language support
- Coordinate with Treasury and AP teams on local payment file formats and bank mandate requirements
- Ensure correct handling of Consumption Tax and withholding tax compliance for AP transactions
- Support internal and external audits as well as local tax inspections
- Provide AP performance insights and reporting to local management including trends and KPI analysis
- Support Japan business testing, cutover activities, and cash forecasting processes
- Advocate for Japan-specific requirements in ERP process design and system enhancements
- Support communication between local business teams and global AP teams requiring business level English support
- Ensure adherence to global standardised AP processes across Japan operations
Requirements:
- More than 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable within a multinational organisation
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, tax compliance, and local regulatory requirements
- Experience in issue resolution, dispute management, and escalation handling
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions
- Native level Japanese; business level English
Preferred requirements:
- Experience working with D365 ERP system
- Possess a valid Finance-related qualification such as CPA
