財務会計士/ Financial Accountant

A global investment management company is looking for a Financial Accountant. The selected candidate will oversee financial accounting operations, reporting, tax compliance, and monthly closing activities while supporting audit and FP&A functions. This is a hybrid and long term haken role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable processes including invoice matching and payment preparation
• Review accruals and amortisation entries during monthly closing activities
• Prepare journal entries for payroll, revenue accruals, and Japan GAAP adjustments
• Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile intercompany balances
• Support tax payments, audit documentation, and statutory compliance requirements
• Prepare financial reports and analyse variances in financial and AUM data

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance, or a related field
• More than 5 years’ experience in corporate accounting, with sound knowledge of Japan GAAP and Japanese tax regulations
• Experience within asset management, financial institutions, or a regulated financial services environment
• Prior experience with corporate accounting systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent)
• Proven experience working in a gaishikei (foreign owned) company
• Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP; Copilot is ideal)
• Native level written and verbal Japanese; business level written and verbal English

Preferred requirements:

• Prior external audit or tax filing experience
