Head of Corporate Affairs

A global energy company is seeking a Head of Corporate Affairs, Asia. The selected candidate will drive media strategies, influence policy, and manage relationships with key media figures.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of public affairs strategies to enhance the company’s reputation
• Collaborate with internal experts to seek out and develop public policy reform arguments
• Devise and execute Asia advocacy campaigns to influence the direction of public policy
• Drive strategic media engagement by identifying and telling compelling stories for various audiences
• Develop media strategies to support key corporate events and announcements in the region
• Advise the Group External Affairs Director on proactive and reactive media relations
• Strengthen the company’s profile and reputation across traditional media
• Build professional and transparent relationships with local, regional, and international media
• Use media evaluation to inform the development of media strategies
• Own and develop core narratives for various audiences and create compelling media content
• Identify and leverage new ways to tell stories and engage media audiences
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to media coverage

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Experience leading Japanese regulation, fiscal, and engagement strategies
• Prior experience with direct interaction with government institutions, scientific community, NGOs and other stakeholders
• Proven experience working with and leading media or press office teams in a high-profile business
• Background in developing successful media and political communication strategies
• Prior background in leading stakeholder engagement in highly regulated sectors (energy, pharma, chemical, construction, oil and gas)
• Proven background developing and executing effective communications strategies in complex environments
• Proficient in Japanese; proficient in other Asian languages
