ゼネラルマネージャー/ General Manager

An international machining technology company is looking for a General Manager. The selected candidate will set strategic direction, drive sales, orders, profitability and growth, lead the management team, strengthen business performance, and ensure the effective implementation of group processes and business practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the Japan business strategy aligned with the Division strategy to drive orders, sales, profitability, and growth
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, reduce lead times, and strengthen the organisation’s long-term growth platform
• Lead the organisation and management team, fostering teamwork, accountability, and high performance
• Lead the implementation of the Value Selling methodology and coach and mentor the sales team
• Establish annual sales and overhead budgets, forecast trends, and monitor expenses to optimise financial performance
• Ensure Division and group processes, business practices, and decision-making tools are effectively implemented across the organisation
• Maintain and strengthen the company brand profile and market position in Japan
• Provide regular business updates and reporting to Division management and complete special projects as required
• Oversee management team activities including recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations
• Develop the business and strengthen internal and external relationships through regular travel to company locations and customers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, sales, or business management
• 4-6 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior senior-level management experience
• Expertise in machine tool technology, metalworking machinery, or a closely related sector
• Sales experience and market knowledge
• Proficient experience with MS Office Suite
• Understanding of business implications, market differentiation, and commercial decisions
• Ability to read and comprehend contracts, legal documents, technical documentation, financial analysis, and budgets
• Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally to company locations and customers on a regular basis
• Fluent level Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Master's degree or above
• Proficient in other Asian languages
