コントローラー/ Controller

A renowned eCommerce company is looking for a Controller. The selected candidate will lead financial close, USGAAP reporting, tax compliance, accounting operations, and finance process improvements. This is a hybrid and flexi-time role.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
• Manage financial statement preparation under USGAAP
• Lead general accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll, and expenses
• Ensure compliance with Japanese corporate, consumption, withholding, and other local taxes
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns and regulatory surveys
• Coordinate with external tax accountants and financial advisors
• Improve accounting processes and implement or enhance financial systems
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management with FP&A

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance, or relevant domain
• More than 7 years of accounting experience
• Experience with ERP or major accounting software
• Business level English; native level Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in international settings or foreign-capital companies in Japan
• Prior Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm experience
• Background in successful system execution or process improvement initiatives
• Understanding of USGAAP
• Possess valid Japanese CPA, US CPA, or equivalent certification
