Head of Finance / CFO

A global manufacturing technology company is looking for an Interim CFO / Head of Finance. The selected candidate will provide strategic financial insight, oversee planning and reporting, support commercial decisions, strengthen financial controls, and lead finance process improvement. This is a hybrid or full remote setup and haken role.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary finance business partner to the leadership teams across the Portable Metrology, Stationary Metrology, and Production Software divisions
• Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Monitor divisional P&L, cash flow, and key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve margins, productivity, working capital, and overall financial performance
• Lead annual budgeting and financial planning and own monthly and quarterly forecasting across revenue, orders, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash flow
• Analyse actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods and drive corrective actions based on key financial drivers
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives, investments, pricing decisions, and business cases
• Oversee divisional financial reporting and month-end and quarter-end close activities for the Japan entity
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies, and internal controls and review complex transactions for appropriate accounting treatment
• Partner with corporate and global finance teams on consolidation, reporting, accounting matters, and audit activities
• Provide financial oversight of sales, pricing, product profitability, inventory, manufacturing operations, and capital expenditure
• Drive working capital improvements across inventory, receivables, and payables
• Evaluate investment and capital expenditure proposals from financial and strategic perspectives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• 8-12 years of experience in finance and accounting, including business partnering or divisional finance leadership
• Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, management reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management
• Experience working closely with regional and global leaders with strong English communication skills
• Experience leading and developing finance professionals
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and corporate governance
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
• Proficient in Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, instrumentation, metrology, or another technology-driven environment
• Possess a valid MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification
