ハードウェアエンジニアリング担当法務ディレクター/ Legal Director, Hardware Engineering

A global entertainment company is looking for a Legal Director, Hardware Engineering. The selected candidate will advise on contracts, regulatory and geopolitical risks, strategic legal matters, and support senior leaders and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on contracts, risk assessment, and negotiations across hardware engineering, procurement, software, R&D, IT, and information security functions
• Advise on legal matters involving semiconductor and key component development for consoles and peripherals
• Partner with regional legal teams to assess and address geopolitical and regulatory risks
• Counsel senior management and engineering leaders on legal decisions and business matters
• Lead, mentor, and develop legal team members through performance and organisational management
• Align legal strategies with business objectives while supporting innovation

Requirements:

• More than 15 years of corporate legal experience (including in-house counsel experience at a global company)
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in both Japanese and English
• Prior experience offering legal risk analysis and decision-making support for products, services, and business initiatives
• Native level Japanese (JLPT N1); business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience overseeing or mentoring multinational teams
• Prior legal experience in the technology industry
• Proven overseas work or study experience
• Possess valid attorney licence in Japan or another jurisdiction
