A renowned industrial machinery manufacturing company is looking for a Category Manager. The selected candidate will drive cost optimisation, category strategy execution and stakeholder collaboration across Japan and the APAC region.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage qualified suppliers to strengthen the local and regional supply base
• Lead supplier performance reviews, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering and working capital optimisation with internal teams
• Support bids and proposals through market intelligence and competitive sourcing strategies
• Implement regional and global category strategies in line with local business requirements
• Partner with stakeholders across procurement, engineering, project management and business leadership to drive transformation and achieve procurement targets

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related domain (Master's degree or MBA is a plus)
• More than 15 years of professional experience
• More than 8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
• Fluent level written and verbal Japanese and English (Mandarin Chinese is preferred)

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in the building technologies, construction, HVAC, fire, security, or related industries
• Prior experience supporting project-based procurement environments
• Background in multi-country APAC sourcing activities
