輸送スペシャリスト/ Transport Specialist

An international manufacturing company is looking for a Transport Specialist. The successful candidate will manage daily transport activities and carrier performance, optimise transportation systems and costs, analyse performance data, lead improvement initiatives and enhance the customer delivery experience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily transportation activities and ensure on-time delivery to customers across Japan
• Monitor and improve transport KPIs including OTIF, lead time performance and delivery quality
• Manage transportation-related escalations and coordinate service recovery activities
• Support the implementation and enhancement of transport service offerings
• Manage relationships with transportation providers and logistics partners
• Conduct carrier performance reviews and drive corrective actions
• Support carrier tendering, benchmarking and provider selection processes
• Monitor carrier capacity, service levels and compliance with contractual requirements
• Maintain and optimise the Transport Management System
• Support testing, deployment and continuous improvement of transport systems
• Ensure transport data accuracy and reporting quality
• Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Track transportation costs and support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation while maintaining service excellence
• Prepare regular reports and performance analyses for management review
• Lead and support logistics improvement projects
• Drive process standardisation and simplification initiatives
• Collaborate with regional and global logistics teams to implement best practices
• Support sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives in transportation
• Partner with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to improve delivery performance
• Analyse customer feedback and implement solutions to improve logistics services

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Good Excel skills including Pivot Tables and formulas, with XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
• Ability to manage and analyse large data sets with high accuracy
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes and propose solutions
• Ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners
• Business level English; proficient in Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain or operations
• Experience with Transport Management Systems
• Experience working with carriers or logistics service providers
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
• Project management experience
