エンジニアリングアシスタントマネージャー/ Assistant Engineering Manager

A renowned automotive parts manufacturer is looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager. The selected candidate will guide product engineering, customer technical engagement, cross-functional development, and issue resolution for automotive exterior systems. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering direction and review product design criteria, concepts, and development activities
• Establish program targets through benchmarking and coordinate supporting technical documentation
• Represent the engineering function in customer meetings, technical presentations, quotations, and proposals
• Coordinate development activities across design, CAE, testing, manufacturing, R&D, program management, sales, and marketing
• Lead complex product and assembly issue resolution using structured engineering and quality tools
• Manage supplier design coordination, prototype builds, development testing, milestone reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related domain
• More than 10 years of engineering experience
• Experience in plastic molding, painting for exteriors, closures, door systems
• Knowledge of advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly methodologies
• Trained in relevant CAD systems
• Knowledge of Computer-Aided Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, and simulation techniques
• Knowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Advanced Product Quality Planning
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Six Sigma tools, capability indices, and control charts
• Knowledge of tooling and materials used in injection molding
• Skilled in applying 8D problem-solving and mistake-proofing methodologies
• Knowledge of Value Analysis, Value Engineering, and reliability engineering
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and manufacturing processes Special requirements
• Fluent level spoken and written Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in Japanese OEM experience
