財務コントローラー/ Financial Controller

A multinational healthcare and medical device company is looking for a Financial Controller, Japan & Korea. The selected candidate will lead financial controllership, reporting, compliance, FP&A, business partnering, treasury activities and finance team development across Japan and Korea.

Responsibilities:

• Lead financial controllership activities across Japan and Korea
• Ensure timely, accurate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual US GAAP reporting
• Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting deliverables
• Manage statutory financial statements, audits, regulatory filings and local tax compliance
• Oversee transfer pricing compliance and intercompany accounting activities
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for Japan and Korea
• Analyse business performance, operating expenses, working capital and cash flow
• Prepare and present P&L information for business reviews and leadership meetings
• Partner with Country Managers and Commercial Leadership on strategic initiatives, pricing decisions and investment proposals
• Oversee cash flow planning, banking relationships, treasury activities and working capital performance
• Drive process improvements, standardisation, finance transformation and One Finance initiatives
• Lead and develop local finance team members across Japan and Korea
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, tax advisers and service providers
• Support corporate initiatives, acquisitions, integrations and special projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• More than 8 years of progressive finance experience including financial controllership and business partnering responsibilities
• Strong experience with US GAAP reporting, statutory reporting, external audits and tax compliance
• Experience operating within a SOX-controlled environment
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Strong financial controllership and technical accounting capability
• Advanced MS Excel, financial reporting systems and ERP experience
• Ability to travel periodically within the region as required
• Possess a valid CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• Professional level Japanese and English

Preferred requirements:

• MBA or postgraduate business qualification
• Experience leading finance activities across multiple countries or business units
• Medical device, healthcare, manufacturing or multinational distribution experience
• Experience with Oracle, OneStream, BlackLine and similar systems
