財務報告マネージャー/ Financial Reporting Manager

A renowned education and research institution is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager. The selected candidate will lead financial reporting operations, improve accounting processes, oversee reporting activities, and provide expertise on financial accounting matters.

Responsibilities:

• Review and streamline accounting and financial reporting processes through automation and continuous improvement
• Develop service standards and implement processes to improve quality and operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain financial accounting policies, procedures, and manuals
• Coordinate tax reporting and filings with external tax accountants
• Liaise with external auditors on financial accounting matters
• Support Japanese government examinations and inspections
• Manage team members and oversee financial reporting and general accounting activities
• Serve as a subject matter expert on financial accounting matters
• Perform other related accounting duties and participate in divisional job rotations as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in business, finance, accounting, or related matters
• More than 7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP (SAP) systems
• Prior experience at accounting firms or tax accountant offices
• Proven project management experience
• Background in operational efficiency through IT utilisation, etc.
• Prior background in an English-speaking workplace environment
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Possess valid Level 2 Bookkeeping certification or equivalent
• Possess valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA), U.S. Certified Public Accountant (USCPA), or Tax Accountant qualification
• Possess valid Nippon Keiei Shikaku Level 1, Tax Accountant subjects, CPA Short Answer Exam, or relevant qualifications
• Native level Japanese; professional level English (TOEIC 800+)
