シニア会計士/ Senior Accountant

A leading education company is looking for a Senior Accountant. The selected candidate will manage monthly close and day-to-day accounting operations while supporting consolidated reporting, audits, and finance process improvements. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Independently perform monthly financial close for a standalone entity
• Support quarterly and annual close processes
• Assist with consolidated accounting and group reporting packages
• Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and AP/AR
• Operate accounting systems, including freee
• Prepare internal financial reports and schedules for the Head of Accounting and CFO
• Support audit preparation and document management
• Assist with finance process improvements as the company scales towards an IPO
• Support other finance activities as required

Requirements:

• More than 2 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Solid understanding of Japanese accounting practices and J-GAAP
• Experience with Freee or similar cloud-based accounting systems
• Native level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in a listed or pre-IPO company
• Familiarity with J-SOX or internal controls
• Experience supporting external audits
• Exposure to consolidated accounting and willingness to develop further
• Possess a valid CPA, JICPA, bookkeeping qualification, or studying towards one
