A global medical equipment manufacturer is seeking a Regional General Counsel for Japan. The selected candidate will lead legal and compliance strategy, partner with senior leadership, and support business growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Advise senior leadership on legal and compliance strategy aligned with business objectives
• Lead compliance investigations, assess risks, and implement mitigation plans
• Deliver legal support for commercial contracts, transactions, and dispute resolution
• Collaborate with HR and regulatory teams on labor and healthcare laws
• Support M&A activities, from due diligence to legal documentation
• Manage external counsel and provide legal input on strategic partnerships

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in law in a Japanese, US, Australian, or European is ideal
• More than 10 years of post-qualification law firm experience or in-house equivalent
• Experience in healthcare industry is ideal
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally
• Fluent level Japanese and English
