研究開発・製品開発マネージャー/ R&D Product Development Manager

A renowned cosmetic company is looking for an R&D Product Development Manager. The chosen applicant will lead product and formula development and support the establishment of the Japan R&D laboratory.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new product concepts incorporating cutting-edge formulas, ingredients, textures, and claims to address emerging trends and enrich the product portfolio
• Work closely with Marketing and support the drafting of formula briefs for new formulas or formula improvements
• Lead formula development in collaboration with OEM/ODM partners and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with the company’s product development goals
• Manage projects by following up on formula submissions, advising Marketing, and challenging OEM/ODM partners and subcontractors to meet project timelines and quality standards
• Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders across France, China, and Japan to ensure product compliance
• Resolve formula stability issues
• Coordinate formula industrialisation and testing, including stability, compatibility, efficacy, and safety tests
• Follow up on first production runs, including manufacturing, filling, and packaging
• Participate in the Japan R&D establishment project and manage operational activities to establish a fully functioning laboratory facility
• Lead formulation projects in the laboratory to develop proprietary formulas

Requirements:

• Scientific profile with more than 10 years of significant experience in the development of cosmetic formulas in R&D
• Strong skills in independently creating skincare product formulas
• Knowledge of international regulations, in particular, Chinese regulations
• Comfortable working within a matrix structure and an international organisation
• Fluent level Japanese and English
