Specialist recruitment firm Robert Walters Japan has appointed Rachna Ratra as head of their Tokyo office under a newly designated role of “Managing Director, Tokyo” from 1 January 2023.
Rachna started with the company in 2004 and has served as the Director of the Sales & Marketing division since 2012. During her tenure as Director, Rachna has led her division to successive years of record-breaking results, growing the team to more than 65 specialist recruiters. She also becomes the first female Managing Director for Robert Walters in Japan since the firm started operations there in 2000.
In 2021, Rachna led the formation of a new Equity, Diversity & Inclusion council for North East Asia, contributing to a more inclusive environment for employees and fostering a greater sense of pride in the business.
Rachna comments, "I am honoured and excited to take on this new challenge and for the opportunity to lead and work alongside our incredible team in Tokyo. I am committed to upholding the values and principles that have made Robert Walters a leading recruitment company in this market since 2000, including teamwork, integrity, passion, innovation, quality, and inclusion. Building on a solid foundation, I endeavour to further enhance Robert Walters' position as a recruitment leader by focusing on providing an outstanding experience for our clients, candidates, and colleagues."
Jeremy Sampson, the current Managing Director for North East Asia (Japan and Korea), will continue to serve in the same capacity while Rachna will lead the Tokyo office and take it forward as the Group’s current largest business.
Jeremy shares "As we steer in a new direction in these post-pandemic times, we are confident that Rachna's strong leadership skills and extensive experience in the recruitment industry will be invaluable as she takes on this new role and helps drive the growth of our Tokyo office. We look forward to seeing the impact Rachna will have in her new position and are excited for the future of our company under her guidance as we strive for continued successes for our clients and candidates."
