Robert Walters Japan backs joint statement submitted for marriage equality to Japanese Ministry ahead of G7 Summit

Robert Walters Japan, the leading specialist recruitment firm, reaffirmed its commitment to marriage equality in Japan. The company was one of the first to endorse the ACCJ BCCJ joint-chamber "ViewPoint on Marriage Equality" in 2019 and has now signed a new joint statement on February 17th endorsing the view that enacting marriage equality would raise Japan's competitiveness in the global war for talent and equalize human rights status with other G7 countries.
The statement has been issued ahead of the upcoming G7 Summit, which Japan is hosting for all other G7 nations, providing a perfect opportunity to make meaningful progress on this important issue.
"Robert Walters Japan is committed to promoting equality and diversity in the workplace, and we believe that marriage equality is an important part of this," said Joshua Bryan, who is the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion leader for the APAC region. "We believe that enacting marriage equality would bring Japan in line with other G7 countries and would help to attract and retain the best talent from around the world."
The company hopes that the G7 Summit will provide a platform for leaders to discuss and make progress on this issue, and they are proud to stand alongside other organizations in support of marriage equality.
