An energy solutions company is searching for an HSE Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and driving health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Report HSE incidents and provide feedback on lessons learned and best practices across the organisation
  • Report progress on implementation of group sustainability objectives and KPIs as required
  • Implement HSE policies and standards and ensure audits are conducted according to the program
  • Support line managers and supervisors in understanding HSE obligations, liabilities, and compliance with local laws and company standards
  • Promote and demonstrate core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility and caring for colleagues and the business
  • Facilitate HSE risk assessments involving project teams, site management, contractors, and relevant stakeholders
  • Lead and conduct comprehensive risk assessments, environmental aspects, and impact evaluations
  • Drive behavioural change through the implementation of performance improvement programs to strengthen safety culture and environmental focus
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness, report performance, and gather feedback on HSE initiatives
  • Collaborate with other functions, CoE, and business partners to improve HSE performance
  • Coach and guide management, supervisors, and employees at the site and office levels to establish a strong safety culture and preventive practices
  • Identify, plan, and initiate HSE training needs for employees and contractors and ensure delivery
  • Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment and tools, and compliance with group management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Participate in incident prevention programs, workshops, investigations, and analysis
  • Support pre-tender safety documentation, risk reviews, and contractor HSE assessments, evaluations, and briefings
  • Contribute to HSE, sustainability, and corporate responsibility projects, manage resources, and participate in internal and external audits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • More than 8 years of experience working in the HSE field (sub-station business with an electrical engineering background is preferred); candidates from construction, general contractor, engineering, and electrical-related industries are also considered
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Knowledge about workplace risk assessment methodologies and techniques
  • Full-time Safety course (NEBOSH is preferred)
  • Business level Japanese and English

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with Industrial Safety and Health Act
