A foreign hospitality company is looking for a Housekeeping Manager. The chosen applicant will manage and coordinate housekeeping operations, ensuring guestrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas meet hotel standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate all housekeeping associates to ensure daily operations are completed on time and in accordance with hotel standards
  • Monitor the cleaning and servicing of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house areas to ensure consistent quality and readiness
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and service areas to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, repair standards and staff grooming compliance
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office to ensure rooms are prepared according to arrival, departure and special guest requirements
  • Ensure turndown service, VIP arrangements and special guest requests are handled promptly and efficiently
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure all areas of the resort and hotel are maintained in good condition
  • Supervise contractors to ensure agreed quality standards are maintained
  • Maintain par stock levels for guest supplies to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee inventory control, purchasing, disbursement and cost management for the department
  • Oversee minibar operations to ensure revenue accuracy, stock control and minimal losses
  • Oversee linen, uniform and guest laundry operations to ensure timely processing, delivery and proper billing
  • Prepare duty rosters, vacation schedules and manpower planning to ensure efficient staffing levels
  • Lead, train and develop housekeeping employees, ensuring compliance with hotel policies, health & safety standards and legal requirements while promoting teamwork and high morale
  • Ensure employees are selected, trained, evaluated and rewarded in compliance with the existing employee management system
  • Coach, counsel, discipline and develop subordinate employees
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely submission of operational reports, including room status and guest request records
  • Administer and monitor Lost & Found in accordance with hotel policies
  • Maintain Lost & Found records in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Prepare, monitor and control the hotel’s annual Housekeeping budget

Requirements:

  • More than 3 years of work experience in the Rooms department
  • Knowledge of OPERA and its functions
  • Knowledge of hygiene management and cleaning standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Business level Japanese and English
