Head of Business Development
A global pharmaceutical company is looking for a Head of Business Development. The selected candidate will drive strategic growth through partnerships, acquisitions, and licensing opportunities in alignment with corporate goals. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company objectives
- Identify and assess opportunities in partnerships, licensing, co-development, and acquisitions
- Lead deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, and transaction execution
- Build and sustain relationships with biotech firms, research institutions, and global pharma companies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunity feasibility and value
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies for strategic insights
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in life sciences, pharmacy, or a relevant domain (MBA or advanced degree is ideal)
- More than 10 years of experience in business development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Experience in international markets is preferred
- Prior experience in large pharma and startup biotech settings is a plus
- Understanding of digital health or precision medicine trends is advantageous
- Knowledge of drug development, regulatory pathways, and commercialisation
- Fluent level Japanese and English
