SCMディレクター/ SCM Director

An SCM Director role is now open in a global luxury retail company. The chosen applicant will oversee and optimise the company’s supply chain operations, including logistics, warehouse management, imports, customs clearance, domestic delivery, and related processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the continuous improvement of supply chain operations
• Oversee all import and domestic logistics activities across the organisation
• Optimise overall logistics costs and efficiency to support the diverse sales activities of the company and its affiliates
• Initially oversee logistics and warehouse operations as a key priority, while gradually taking responsibility for the overall supply chain management division
• Manage and optimise supply chain processes and resources across the company and its affiliates, covering sea and air imports, customs clearance, compliance with Japanese standards, warehouse management, and domestic delivery
• Formulate and manage supply chain budgets, including monitoring KPIs
• Manage and supervise inbound, warehouse, and outbound planning and regulatory affairs staff
• Communicate and coordinate with the sales department and third parties, including suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PLs, to ensure smooth supply chain operations
• Improve WMS (Warehouse Management System) and SCM in close cooperation with the IT team and 3PLs
• Improve eCommerce operations from a supply chain management perspective

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience working for importers, retailers (and/or wholesalers) in Japan
• Extensive and deep knowledge of all aspects of supply chain activities (practical experience is desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of recent advancements in supply chain technology
• Proficient in Japanese and English
