SCMカテゴリースペシャリスト/ SCM Category Specialist

A global energy and industrial organisation is seeking a SCM Category Specialist in its procurement function. The selected candidate will develop and execute category strategies for chemical procurement, drive sourcing and negotiations, and manage supplier relationships to deliver cost and performance improvements. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase raw materials, components, and maintain supply and service contracts
• Apply category management principles and procurement processes across business units to maximise value
• Develop annual category and contracting plans aligned with business objectives
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiations, contract formulation, and supplier relationship management
• Manage supplier qualification processes including compliance assurance and site evaluations
• Maintain ongoing supplier and contract management to drive cost reduction, value creation, and innovation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and support strategic objectives as a trusted advisor
• Facilitate engagement between stakeholders and strategic suppliers
• Monitor market dynamics and develop pricing outlooks for commercial teams
• Identify and execute opportunities with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver business value

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Science, Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management related fields
• More than 6 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management for Specialty Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Chemical industries, or other related businesses
• Demonstrated ability to develop category and contracting strategies aligned with business plans and market conditions
• Experience providing commercial guidance to business units and supporting benchmarking activities
• Experience driving cost management initiatives, strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier relationship management
• Professional level Japanese; business level English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience in a plant environment such as terminal, chemical plant, or refinery
• E-Procurement knowledge
• SAP or SMART by GEP system experience
• Category management experience in industrial plant environments
