バイヤー/ Buyer

An international manufacturing company is looking for a Buyer to manage procurement activities supporting business operations and production. The selected candidate will manage purchasing, supplier relationships, material availability, cost and inventory performance, and procurement compliance while resolving supply chain issues and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Procure goods, services, parts, supplies, and non-production materials for business operations
• Act as the communication link between internal customers, suppliers, and external customers during pre-production ramp-up and full production
• Review requisitions, contact vendors, evaluate bids, and initiate contracts
• Initiate purchases through the MRP process and determine appropriate order timing and quantities
• Coordinate last-time buys for products approaching end of life
• Monitor on-time delivery, purchase price variance, inventory management, and forecast accuracy
• Update standard costs for assigned parts and support quoting and sourcing activities to improve supply and reduce costs
• Resolve supply chain shortages, allocations, material discrepancies, and alternative supply requirements
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, including supplier meetings, evaluations, and improvement activities
• Analyse variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Drive continuous improvement in data integrity and parameter management
• Develop and document procurement audit procedures and plans to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures
• Coordinate and conduct internal self-audits and ISO reviews and address audit findings

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in a relevant field
• Basic knowledge of electronic manufacturing environments, materials, and processes
• Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier management
• Good knowledge of the types of materials being purchased
• Strong knowledge of SCM policies, procedures, and ISO standards
• Ability and willingness to undertake occasional overnight travel
• Professional level Japanese and English
