ソーシングバイヤー/ Sourcing Buyer

An international industrial manufacturing company is looking for a Sourcing Buyer. The selected candidate will lead supplier development, cost reduction, supply risk management, contract negotiations, market analysis, and sourcing activities for new product initiatives. This is a hybrid setup role.

Responsibilities:

• Develop sourcing strategies for assigned direct material categories and suppliers in line with divisional and local procurement goals
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address supplier risks and opportunities
• Drive supplier development projects covering VA/VE, lead time reduction, waste minimisation, and cost reduction
• Evaluate supplier risks and develop actions to strengthen existing suppliers or identify alternative sources
• Monitor supplier performance across supply continuity, financial stability, capacity, quality, and compliance using KPIs
• Analyse categories, parts, supply markets, and commodity pricing to support sourcing decisions and cost management
• Develop should-cost benchmarks through cost modelling and conduct supply market research and benchmarking
• Present sourcing findings and recommendations to category management or section management
• Negotiate supply contracts, monitor compliance, and identify opportunities to renegotiate terms or consolidate suppliers
• Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to source materials and components for new product initiatives
• Assess supplier capabilities against NPI specifications and timelines and provide sourcing input in NPI meetings
• Manage sourcing activities for assigned categories within business objectives and budget constraints

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing
• Experience in contract management and NPI processes
• Proficiency in data analysis and procurement software
• Knowledge of market trends and supplier dynamics
• Ability and willingness to travel as required by business conditions and strategies
• Professional level Japanese and English
