A global data centre solutions company is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager. The selected applicant will be responsible for serving as the primary procurement lead, supporting data centre development, operations, and strategic sourcing activities. This role is open for Osaka or Tokyo candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary procurement representative in Japan, supporting the Japan business
• Partner closely with the procurement team to align sourcing strategies, supplier engagement, and procurement execution
• Act as a trusted advisor to development, operations, legal, finance, and executive leadership teams
• Support sourcing and commercial management of data centre equipment, including electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and counterparts on procurement planning, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution
• Develop sourcing strategies to optimise cost, schedule, quality, and risk outcomes
• Lead sourcing initiatives and RFPs across operational and corporate categories, including facility management services, maintenance services, security and manned guarding, IT hardware, software and services, professional services, and general operations support services
• Drive supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management activities
• Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers across Japan
• Negotiate commercial terms, contractual agreements, and service levels
• Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to execute contracts and manage supplier performance
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance requirements
• Support contract repository management and procurement reporting
• Identify and mitigate procurement, supply chain, commercial, and supplier risks
• Work closely with Development, Construction, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders
• Support long-range planning for future campuses and capacity expansion initiatives
• Provide market intelligence on supplier capabilities, pricing trends, and industry developments

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• More than 8 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management experience
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, industrial, energy, telecommunications, or data centre projects
• Experience leading complex RFPs and competitive sourcing events
• Knowledge of data centre infrastructure
• Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally
• Fluent level Japanese and English (ability to effectively negotiate and communicate in both languages)

Preferred Requirements:

• Direct data centre industry experience
• Experience procuring electrical and mechanical equipment for large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience working with EPC contractors, facility management providers, and critical operations suppliers
• Experience supporting joint ventures or partnership structures
• Knowledge of Japanese procurement practices, supplier markets, and contracting norms
