A global manufacturing company is looking for a Planner. The selected candidate will develop production schedules based on customer demand, coordinate materials and resources, manage shipment commitments, and drive continuous improvements across planning and fulfilment processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise, control, and execute production schedules for designated products, including programme coordination
  • Develop production schedules based on actual and forecasted customer demand, product demand profiles, and customer requirements
  • Analyse capacity, board cycle times, urgency, material availability, and other inputs to determine production schedules
  • Assess the impact of customer scheduling on line scheduling, procurement, logistics, and shipping
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of information used to generate materials requirements plans
  • Revise production plans based on actual performance versus plan
  • Manage engineering change issues to minimise cost exposure, excess materials, and customer shipment risks
  • Support new product introductions and product transfers through materials planning and analysis
  • Communicate materials availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle
  • Monitor customer volume fluctuations and determine required materials
  • Provide procurement teams with information on demand variances
  • Develop and communicate short- and long-term customer shipment commitments
  • Coordinate resources to meet shipment commitments and develop recovery plans for missed shipments
  • Review and report on product inventory, inventory exposure, backlog, availability, and on-time delivery
  • Lead continuous improvement of planning processes and support the development of fulfilment processes and best practices
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to less experienced employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in a relevant field
  • Basic knowledge of electronic manufacturing environments, materials, and processes
  • Basic knowledge of production planning, scheduling, materials requirements planning techniques, and manufacturing control systems
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing principles, techniques, and philosophies
  • Knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and multiple business applications
  • Basic understanding of customer needs
  • Professional level Japanese and English
