法務顧問/ Legal Counsel

A global financial services company is looking for a Legal Counsel. The selected candidate will oversee contract management, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide legal guidance across business functions.

Responsibilities:

• Review and negotiate commercial and corporate contracts
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance on daily compliance matters
• Execute initiatives under the annual compliance program
• Lead and support regulatory inspections and external audits
• Partner with Strategy, Sales, Marketing, and IT on legal aspects of projects
• Communicate legal matters effectively in Japanese and English

Requirements:

• More than 3 years of private practice and/or inhouse counsel
• Experience of communicating with the regulators or supporting such communications
• Possess valid law qualification in Japan
• Fluent level written and spoken Japanese; proficient in English

Preferred requirements:

• Experience at proprietary trading systems operators
• Prior experience of setting up internal control systems and creating an environment to conduct PDCA cycles
• Proven experience of drafting contracts from scratch, negotiating and executing the contract in transaction deals
• Background in handling examinations by regulators and other external parties
