法務顧問/ Legal Counsel

A multinational consumer goods company is seeking a Legal Counsel. The selected candidate will provide commercial legal advice, manage legal risks, support contract management, and partner with business stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective legal operations.

Responsibilities:

• Act as primary legal advisor for general commercial legal matters and support local management and APAC legal teams
• Provide proactive legal guidance to identify and mitigate risks across commercial activities including events, marketing, and sales
• Ensure appropriate commercial agreements are in place with service providers, customers, and third parties
• Report key legal matters to APAC Area Legal Counsel and coordinate with global legal and specialist teams
• Support legal self-service initiatives by developing templates, training employees, and improving contract management processes
• Utilise legal document and matter management systems to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Prepare legal documents, reports, agreements, and correspondence in both English and Japanese
• Translate legal documents and provide interpretation support during meetings and negotiations
• Manage external counsel selection, engagement, and budget in collaboration with regional legal leadership
• Deliver legal training programmes and support implementation of legal tools and compliance initiatives
• Support legal project management for business initiatives requiring legal oversight

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience in legal practice
• Experience in commercial law including contracts, compliance, and antitrust
• Experience working with international stakeholders and global legal teams
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across diverse teams
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Proficient in Japanese in English
