A global chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Legal Affairs Manager. The selected candidate will provide strategic legal support across business transactions and compliance matters. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on M&A, business restructuring, and transactions in Japan and overseas
  • Manage and coordinate responses to lawsuits, arbitrations, and disputes
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes, including antitrust, subcontract, anti-bribery, and data privacy laws
  • Develop and maintain systems for internal compliance and legal information sharing
  • Collaborate with regional legal teams to support business units
  • Engage and coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law
  • More than 5 years of experience in corporate legal affairs (cross-border cases)
  • More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience studying abroad, overseas expatriation, or similar
  • Possess valid legal qualifications is ideal
  • Proficient in English (TOEIC 850+ or TOEFL 85+) and Japanese
