法務・コンプライアンスマネージャー/ Legal and Compliance Manager

A global financial services company is looking for a Legal & Compliance Manager. The selected candidate will oversee legal, compliance and data protection matters while advising leadership and supporting business operations. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

• Advise local leadership on legal, compliance and business risks while supporting effective risk mitigation
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with clients, merchants, suppliers and other business partners
• Ensure products and operations comply with local laws covering payments, tax, AML, anti-fraud, anti-corruption, data protection and labour
• Implement and monitor legal and compliance policies, procedures and corporate requirements
• Lead Japan’s data protection compliance programme in collaboration with regional and global teams
• Oversee data protection matters, including incidents, regulatory developments, customer inquiries and communications with authorities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in law
• More than 10 years of experience in the field of legal and compliance (MNC is a plus)
• Experience in the fields of contract law, corporate affairs and data protection
• Prior experience in offering advice and guidance to senior management on legal, compliance and data protection issues
• Proven negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution experience
• Background in developing, executing, and ensuring compliance with data protection policies within an organisation
• Understanding of local regulations and guidelines relating to data protection and of GDPR
• Knowledge of data protection challenges in the technology sector
• Skilled in compliance tools/software (One Trust, etc.)
• Possess valid data protection certifications
• Professional level Japanese and English
