Chief of Staff

A manufacturing technology company is looking for a Chief of Staff. The successful candidate will support business strategy and management initiatives, analyse commercial performance, lead cross-functional projects, and strengthen collaboration across departments and international stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and execution of business strategies and key management initiatives
• Provide the President with analysis, presentation materials, and structured recommendations
• Analyse commercial performance and identify factors driving revenue, profitability, customer growth, and product performance
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and periodic business reviews
• Organise and facilitate management meetings, including agenda design and follow-up actions
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects involving Sales, Finance, HR, Operations, and other departments
• Strengthen communication and collaboration between the Japan organisation and international stakeholders
• Support the President in managing priorities and allocating time effectively
• Identify opportunities to improve organisational processes and business operations
• Translate financial and operational data into practical commercial actions

Requirements:

• Strong experience in B2B sales, business development, commercial strategy, or business unit management
• Commercially oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth
• Ability to evaluate business questions related to sales, profit margins, customer and market segment growth, and product profitability
• Ability to understand profit and loss statements and explain business performance logically using numerical data
• Experience working with senior management and supporting strategic decision-making
• Professional level English and Japanese

Preferred requirements:

• Experience working or studying in an international environment
• Commercial experience in technical, industrial, scientific, healthcare, measurement, or other specialised B2B sectors
• Experience in sales or business development with an interest in broader business management and corporate strategy
